Here we see a timelapse recording of the recovery of a fixed ADCP frame made for the Teledyne RDI Workhorse Monitor ADCP.
The vessel, C-Chariot, is kept on site using a dynamic 4-point mooring system allowing the vessel to position itself exactly where is required using the winches to alter the vessels position. A drop camera gave vision of the frame on the sea bed 35m below and also as it was lifted, with the vessel keeping station right through the tidal cycle with speeds up to 8 knots.

In the river Mosel, a hydroelectric plant is situated near the city of Koblenz. Alongside the plant, a fish passage is present. The presence of the fish passage results in an extra channel through which river discharge can be transported. The Bundesanstalt für Wasserbau (BAW) has requested Aqua Vision to quantify the discharges in the fish passage and in the channels connected to the fish passage. In July 2015 and March 2016, Aqua Vision has deployed three horizontal ADCPs over a three day period at fixed locations in the fish passage. A large number of calibration transects have carried out by use of two StreamPro ADCPs.

The video shows a WWI merchant vessel sunk using charges after surrendering to a German U-Boat. The bow separated from the vessel during its 600m decent to the seabed and lies half a kilometre away. No lives were lost. The video shows the 90m long main and stern section of the hull with a fishing net draped over the port side.

The survey was carried out using a 4 ton negatively buoyant platform usually used as a grab for cargo removal. The platform was equipped with a Reson 8125, CDL MiniPOSNAV3 inertial navigation system and Tritech Bathy suite and was tracked from the surface using an IXSEA GAPS USBL.The platform was suspended through the moonpool at 590m depth and survey lines were run around the wreck. The data shows a small heave artefact. This is due to the platform being directly connected to the surface vessel and suffering the same heave. The data quality was excellent so only a small amount of point removal was needed. The xyz file was then displayed in Cloud Compare and lighting applied to enhance the detail.

Sonar used: RESON SeaBAt 8125 with 1500m rated head.

SS Leslie The SS Leslie was built in 1919 in Duluth, Michigan, as the Lake Flagstaff. She later sailed under the names Stella Lykes and Josephine, before being renamed Leslie. She was 251 feet long, had a 44 foot beam and displaced 2,609 gross tons. The Leslie was owned by Worth Steamship Company of New York and was under the command of Captain Albert Ericksson. On April 12, 1942, she was torpedoed by the German submarine U-123. At the time she was en route from Antilla, Cuba, to New York with a cargo of 3,300 tons of sugar. Out of a complement of 31 crew and one passenger, four of her crew were lost.Today the Leslie wreck sits in 80 feet of water, 21 miles off Port Canaveral.

The wreck was surveyed in two passes and processed with PDS2000 grid model editor. It was surveyed with Land and Sea's research vessel " The Beast" a 40 foot Sea Ark. We used a Knogsberg MRU 5 motion sensor,an ADU5 Magellan heading device and a magellan RTK sub centimeter GPS system.

Sonar Used: SeaBat 7125

"Dutch Wreck" -- Steamship Laertes The Dutch steamship Laertes was built in 1919 by Taikoo Dockyard & Engineering Company, Hong Kong. Owned by Nederland Stoomy, she was 423.9 feet long, had a 52.3 foot beam, displaced 5,825 tons and was pushed by a single screw triple expansion engine. The Laertes was powered by a 413 nhp triple expansion engine and had a top speed of 13.5 knots. On May 3, 1942, the Laertes was torpedoed and sunk by a German submarine. Some say it was the work of the U-564, while others claim it was the U-109. At the time she was on a voyage from New York to Bombay, with a 5,230 ton cargo of war supplies, including three aircraft, 17 tanks and 20 trucks. A total of 18 of her crew went down with her.

Today the Laerte's scattered wreckage sits in 72 feet of water eleven miles off Port Canaveral. This wreck is also locally known as the Dutch WreckThe data was processedusing the grid model editor in Teledyne PDS

Sonar Used: SeaBat 7125
